PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville athletic department announced a partnership with NOCAP Sports, a premier service aimed at aiding collegiate student-athletes in enhancing their opportunities in the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) market. NOCAP Sports is a platform which provides resources for student-athletes to work with brands while enabling them to form comprehensive and successful partnerships. Student-Athletes join the platform free of charge and become eligible to build their brand.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis – James Akita has been named the next head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's and women's cross country teams, as announced today by Director of Athletics and Assistant Chancellor for Sports Administration Dr. Kristina Navarro. In addition to leading the Pioneer cross country teams, Akita will also serve as a distance assistant coach to the UW-Platteville indoor and outdoor track and field teams under the direction of Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Chris Rotzenberg.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Academic Teams for the 2022 cross country season, with both the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s and women’s cross country teams earning the honor.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Tom Antczak will retire after 31 seasons at the helm of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s and women’s cross country programs. Antczak also served as the head men’s and women’s track and field coach from 1993 to 1996 before becoming assistant middle distance/distance coach.

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams ran at the NCAA North Regional on Saturday afternoon hosted by St. Olaf in Northfield, Minn.

Platteville, Wis.- As the calendar switches from October to November, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville athletic teams will switch their focus from regular season to postseason. The men’s and women’s soccer teams as well as the Pioneer volleyball team begin their postseason play this week. Men’s and women’s cross country will have the week off after competing in the WIAC Cross Country Championships on Oct. 29.

WEST SALEM, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams competed at the WIAC Cross Country Championships hosted by UW-Whitewater on Saturday afternoon, with both the men’s and women’s teams placing seventh at the Maple Grove Venue in West Salem, Wis.

Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville fall athletic teams are rolling strong into the postseason. Women’s volleyball and women’s soccer have clinched spots in the WIAC Championships with both teams having the opportunity to host first round contest. Men’s and women’s cross country will head to the conference meet this weekend, while men’s soccer will have one final tune up before they head to the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s and women's cross country teams ran at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Open on Friday, with the men’s team finishing second and the women’s team taking first of the three teams competing.

Platteville, Wis.- The Bandana Project has been a popular and important cause game for the student-athletes at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Founded at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in January of 2016, the Bandana Project is a suicide prevention and mental health awareness movement. This week, the Pioneer men’s and women’s soccer program will host their Mental Health Awareness game by encouraging students to become a member and wear a green bandana.

WEST SALEM, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s and women’s cross country teams ran at the UW-La Crosse Drew/Neubauer Invite on Saturday, with the men placing eighth out of 28 teams and the women coming in 14th out of 30.

Platteville, Wis.- Homecoming week is always a big event at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Events are scheduled all week with the final event on Saturday, Oct. 15 when UW-Platteville lights the “M” and sets off fireworks to bring a close to Homecoming week. During the week, the Pioneer athletic teams will be in action at home and on the road.

Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville athletic teams continued to have a strong fall campaign over the past week. The men’s soccer program picked up a big regional victory over Loras College, the women’s volleyball team swept a WIAC foe, the women’s soccer team opened conference play with a victory, and the golf team finished second at UW-Stevens Point.
