Pioneers Run at UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invite
COLFAX, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams competed at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invite on the grounds of the Whitetail Golf Course of Friday night.
COLFAX, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams competed at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invite on the grounds of the Whitetail Golf Course of Friday night.
The men's team placed ninth out of 25 teams in the 8k, totaling 312 points. The women scored 365 points for 13th out of 25 teams in the 6k.
Sophomore Logan Bell was the top finisher for the men, placing 48th in the field of 407 with a time of 26:09.06. Sophomore Riley Coulter (26:25.58) and senior Troy Humpal (26:25.90) were the next closest finishers, finishing 66th and 69th, respectively. Rounding out the scores for the Pioneers were sophomores Joey Madsen and Davin Dahl, who placed 94th and 112th.
For the women, senior Kaitlyn Galgon finished 50th overall out of 356 runners with a time of 24:07.12. Sophomore Natalie Kreier was the second Pioneer to cross the line, finishing 106th at 25:00.29. Junior Hannah Fliss posted a time of 25:16.30 for 124th, while freshman Caitlin Gorge was 137th at 25:32.41. Freshman Avery Brown rounded out the scorers for UW-Platteville, finishing 156th at 25:50.95.
After a week off, the Pioneers will compete at the UW-La Crosse Drews/Neubauer Invite on Saturday, Oct. 15. The meet will be held at the Maple Grove Venue in West Salem, Wis. The women's race is scheduled to begin at 11:20 a.m. with the men's to follow at noon.
