Pioneers Race At UW-La Crosse Saturday
WEST SALEM, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s and women’s cross country teams ran at the UW-La Crosse Drew/Neubauer Invite on Saturday, with the men placing eighth out of 28 teams and the women coming in 14th out of 30.

The men put together a strong effort, running well as a pack as the top four runners all finished withing eight spots of each other. Senior Troy Humpal was the top finisher for the Pioneers, placing 54th in the field of 254 with a time of 26:14.3. Sophomore Logan Bell was one place behind for 55th and posted a time of 26:15.0. Sophomore Joey Madsen clocked in at 26:15.5 to finish 57th overall while sophomore Riley Coulter took 61st at 26:20.6. The final scorer for UW-Platteville was sophomore Davin Dahl, who ran a time of 26:34.3 to place 89th.
Senior Kaitlyn Galgon paced the women with a 51st-place finish out of 364 runners, posting a time of 23:57.0 in the 6k. Freshman Caitlin Gorge was the next Pioneer to cross the line, running a 24:18.9 and finishing 71st. Sophomore Hannah Fliss finished just inside the top 100, placing 98th with a time of 24:41.5. Sophomore Natalie Kreier (24:54.7) and freshman Avery Brown (25:07.4) were the final two scorers for UW-Platteville, finishing 120th and 130th, respectively.
The Pioneers will compete next Friday, Oct. 21 at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Open with the women starting at 4 p.m. and the men at 4:45 p.m. The meet will be held at the UW-Whitewater Campus Course.
