Pioneers Compete at NCAA North Regional

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams ran at the NCAA North Regional on Saturday afternoon hosted by St. Olaf in Northfield, Minn.
The Pioneer men placed 12th out of 28 teams competing, finishing with 369 points. UW-Whitewater won the meet, scoring 75 points along with the top individual finisher in Christian Patzka. The women placed 21st out of 33 teams at the meet, totaling 560 points. Carleton won the women's meet with 41 points and four finishers inside the top 10.
Sophomore Logan Bell paced the men's team, placing 24th overall in the field of 230. behind a strong time of 25:22.0. Junior Caleb Christiansen was the second Pioneer to finish, posting a time of 26:22.1 to place 78th. Sophomore Joey Madsen trailed close behind, taking 81st overall with a time of 26:23.0. Senior Troy Humpal took 88th at 26:31.5 while sophomore Davin Dahl was 102nd with a time of 26:45.3. Freshman Isaiah Kruckman (27:05.7) and sophomore Korbin Eisler (27:06.2) were the final two finishers, placing 115th and 116th, respectively.
Senior Kaitlyn Galgon was the top finisher for the women's team, placing 68th overall in the field of 230 with a time of 24:04.5. Freshman Caitlin Gorge was close behind, running 24:08.7 to finish 73rd. Sophomore Hannah Fliss crossed the line a minute later, placing 124th with a mark of 25:04.2. Freshman Avery Brown (25:30.8) and Sophomore Natalie Kreier (25:34.7) finished just a couple spots apart, placing 147th and 150th, respectively. Freshman Addison Morris (26:34.1) placed 184th and freshman Lydia Oakleaf (26:45.9) finished 189th as the final two finishers for the Pioneers.
