High School: Earned Honorable Mention All-Conference as a sophomore ... unanimous First-Team All-Conference, First-Team All-Area and team captain as a junior and senior ... helped her team to two conference championships, four regional championships, and 3 sectional runner-ups ... as a senior she averaged 16.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game ... She was actively involved in high school participating in Student Council, Historian of National Honor Society, Student Ambassador, and ranked 4th academically in her class.

Getting to know Maiah

What makes you love UW-Platteville Women's Basketball?

I love UW-Platteville Women's Basketball because they're my second family and Platteville is my second home. Along with getting to play basketball, it's even better to play with your best friends.

What is your nickname? How did you get it and who gave it to you?

My nickname is Princess, given to me by Rachel E, because everything has to be perfect for me and sometimes I'm a little dramatic :)

Who are the role models in your life and why?

My sister, Morgan, because she's always been the person I've looked up to on every path of life and I aspire to be as good of a friend, nurse, and sister as she is one day.

Who or what inspired you to play basketball and why?

My family, because I come from a family of ballers and all of us have pushed each other to be the best athletes we can be. Specifically my dad, he's coached me since day 1 and never given up on me.

If you were a superhero, what would your name be and what superpower would you have?

Aqua Girl, I would be able to swim super-fast and breathe under water. I'm a lifeguard, so this would come in handy.

Pre-game rituals or game day superstitions:

I always straighten my hair and have my make-up on point and listen to the song, President Carter, by Lil Wayne.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Leader, Motivated, Strong.

What advice did you get that was the most rewarding?

This isn't necessarily advice but rather a quote - "Carpe Diem" because it's a simple saying that means "Seize the Day" and to me, it means that every day is a new day with a clean slate and you have to go out there and get it, for whatever it may be in life.

If you won a million dollars what would you buy?

Endless supply of Dunkin' Donuts for the rest of my life.

What is one of the things you would put on your bucket list?

Take a trip around the entire world.
