PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-Platteville wasn't able to slow down UW-Oshkosh in the 63-45 loss to open WIAC play.
The Pioneers (6-5) fell behind 18-32 at halftime and weren't able to fight their way back against the Titans (11-1). The Titans had a balanced attack and had 11 players score while their highest scorer had 11 points.
Sophomore Maiah Domask led the team in scoring and on the boards with 18 points (2-of-3 on 3-point shots) and eight rebounds. Junior Morgan Horstman added 10 points and was the only other scorer in double digits for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers played aggressively on the defensive end which led to the Titans taking 28 free throws compared to the Pioneers' 12 attempts. The Pioneers knocked down their 3-pointers at a higher clip than the Titans at 33.3 percent (5-of-15) which is better than the season average.
The Pioneers travel to play UW-La Crosse on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 3 p.m at UW-La Crosse.
