Why did you choose UW-Platteville? I wanted to go to study engineering while staying in a smaller school.

Finishing among the top 8 in their event, Will Lawrence and Alex Girard were named All-Americans.

Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field program will send 59 student-athletes to the 2022 WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship (presented by Culver’s) hosted by UW-La Crosse. The championship will begin on Friday, May 6 and finish on Saturday, May 7.

La Crosse, Wis. – The Pioneers competed at UW-La Crosse in day one of the 2022 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field program will send 11 student-athletes to compete in the 112th Drake Relays. The Drake Relays, held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, attracts the top track and field athletes from around the world to compete in this prestigious event every April.

Des Moines, Iowa | Whitewater, Wis. – The Pioneer track and field team traveled to two different venues for this weekend’s competitions, Drake Relays and the Drake Alternative Meet hosted by UW-Whitewater. With one week until championships season begins, the UW-Platteville track and field team began making final preparations for the first of post-season meets, the WIAC Outdoor Championships.

Rock Island, Ill. – Over the weekend, the Pioneers traveled a partial squad of distance runners to UW-La Crosse for the 10,000m run. While the majority of the team traveled to Augustana College to compete at the Meet of Champions. Of the many great performances, the throws once again stole the show.

Greensboro, N.C. - Qualifying to the 2021 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships in of itself is a massive accomplishment. After seeing cancellations of the 2020 NCAA DIII indoor and outdoor track and field competitions, track and field athletes everywhere were ready to finish what they started. Competing for the Pioneers were Ben Veverka, Alexander Walechka, Justin Eichler, Katie Schilling, and Brianna Leahy.

Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field program will send five individuals to the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina. The meet begins Thursday, May 27 and will finish Saturday, May 29.

Platteville, Wis.- Five members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams were named to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference all conference teams. Senior Alexander Walechka was a second team All-Conference performer, while senior Katie Schilling and junior Brianna Leahy were honorable mention. Jacob Rice and Kelli Schneider were named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

River Falls, Wis. – Saturday, May 8, the Pioneers continued competition on day two of the WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted at UW-River Falls. In team scores, the men and women’s team finished in seventh place with 50 and 45 points respectively. Placing among the top three in their events, receiving All-Conference honors are Katie Schilling, Brianna Leahy, and Alexander Walechka.

River Falls, Wis. - The UW-Platteville track and field team, traveled to UW-River Falls to compete at the 2021 WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Friday, May 7 was the first day of the two-day championship event.

Platteville, Wis. - With one week to go until the WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, UW-Platteville hosted the Border Battle on Friday, April 30. Several Pioneers seized the opportunity of the gorgeous spring day to improve on their season best times and marks. Teams in attendance included UW-Whitewater, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Oshkosh, and University of Dubuque.

Whitewater, Wis. – The Pioneers competed at the Drake Alternative Meet at UW-Whitewater on Saturday, April 24. Brianna Leahy extended her school record to 14.55m (47-9) and several more Pioneers saw personal bests in their events. Teams in attendance include UW-Whitewater, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Oshkosh, University of Chicago, University of Dubuque, and Carthage College.

Rock Island, Ill. – On Saturday, April 17, the Pioneers competed at the Meet of Champions hosted by Augustana College. Among the outstanding performances, junior Brianna Leahy won the women’s shot put and set a new school record of 14.13m (46-4.25).

Whitewater, Wis. – The Pioneers competed at the Rex Foster Twilight Meet at UW-Whitewater on Friday, April 2, 2021. Gwen Orr breaks the 100m dash school record, and several other Pioneers make advances on the Pioneer All-Time Top-Ten List.

Platteville, Wis. – It had been quite some time since the UW-Platteville Pioneers competed in an outdoor track and field meet. In fact, it had been over a year since the Pioneers had hosted a home track and field event. However, on Saturday, March 27, all that changed.
