Luther Rallies to Defeat UW-Platteville, 2-1
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville dropped a 2-1 decision to host Luther College on Tuesday in Decorah, Iowa.
The Pioneers (5-5) were outshot by an 18 to 7 margin in the loss, sophomore goalkeeper Molly Bender made four saves.
The Norse (4-5) was led by Elly Arend and Maggie Herrity, who each had four shots in the win.
Luther took a 1-0 lead on a Maggie Jasper goal in the 11th minute and held the lead until the Pioneers tied it up when Saturday night's hero Katie Viney found the back of the net for her third goal of the season in the 58th minute.
The game remained tied until Arend scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute.
UW-Platteville returns to WIAC play for its next match when it travels to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m.
