Platteville, Wis.- When junior Brock Parker transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to finish his education and athletic career on the wrestling team, he found out that he would have to complete an internship to graduate. Parker, a business administration major with an emphasis in professional sales, reached out to his advisor Dr. George Krueger, associate professor of business administration, to ask for some advice or leads.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team is sending three Pioneers to the National Championships for the first time since 2018. The Pioneers took fourth out of 18 teams after two days of competition at the Upper Midwest Regionals, hosted by UW-Eau Claire in the McPhee Physical Education Center. Tyler Hannah, Isaac Wiegel and Zach Thompson all qualified to wrestle at the NCAA DIII National Championships by finishing in the top three of their weight classes.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team sits in 4th place out of 18 teams after the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional.  Eight Pioneers advance to the final day of competition in hopes of securing a top-three finish in order to advance to the National Championships.

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville finished third of six teams at the 67th annual Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Wrestling Championship (presented by @Culver’s) Saturday at the Kolf Sports Center. UW-Platteville had its highest finish since placing third at the 2017 WIAC Championship, hosted by the Pioneers in Williams Fieldhouse. The Pioneers put up 123.5 team points, the most since the 1999 championship. UW-La Crosse won its sixth straight title while UW-Eau Claire finished ahead of the Pioneers in second place.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team defeated UW-Oshkosh 22-16 in the return of Throwdown in the Theatre in the Center for the Arts. Ranked No. 25 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, the Pioneers improve to 3-5, 1-4 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference while the No. 15 ranked Titans fall to 12-2 overall and 3-2 in the WIAC.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team dropped a narrow 24-18 dual to nationally ranked UW-La Crosse Tuesday night in Williams Fieldhouse. The Pioneers move to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference while the Eagles, ranked third in the most recent National Wrestling Coaches Association Dual Rankings, jump to 7-4 overall and 1-2 in the league.

WHEATON, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team placed ninth of 35 teams in the Pete Wilson Wheaton Invite. Junior Brock Parker claimed the 149 pounds title while three of the seven remaining Pioneers placed at the two-day tournament.

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team split the first six matches before the No. 15 nationally ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the final four to close out the dual and secure a 23-10 victory.

The Pioneers drop to 2-3, 0-2 in WIAC duals while the Blugolds remain undefeated against WIAC competition and improve to 6-4, 3-0 WIAC.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team dropped the first conference dual of the season with a 19-16 road loss at UW-Stevens Point. Ultimately, the final decision of the night broke a 16-16 tie and edged the WIAC dual in favor of the Pointers.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team competed at the Augsburg University Invitational on Saturday, held at Si Melby Hall. Eight Pioneers won titles in the Gold division and three won titles in the Freshman division.

Pioneers ready for 2020-21 season under new leadership

Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s wrestling program will open the 2020-21 season with the annual Platteville Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 6. It will be Head Coach Trevor Kittleson’s first meet as the Pioneers’ head coach. Kittleson was named head coach of the Pioneers in May of 2021 after spending five years as associate head coach at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
