Pioneers Drop Dual to UW-Whitewater, 42-6

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team dropped its final dual of the 2011-12 season to host UW-Whitewater, 42-6 on Thursday night.

The Pioneers lone win on the night came at 149 pounds when freshman Zach Fisher received a forfeit. The win raises the overall record for Fisher to 5-13 on the season.

The Warhawks won two matches by forfeit, two more by technical fall and major decision, respectively en route to the dual meet victory.

Next up for the Pioneers is a return trip to Whitewater on Sunday, Feb. 26 when they participate in the WIAC Championships. Action will get underway at 9 a.m.
