Women's Golf all set for WIAC Championship
UW-Platteville women's golf team is all set for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship that will take place at Lake Arrowhead Golf Course in Nekoosa, Wis. The 54-hole championship begins on Friday, Oct. 4 and a winner will be crowned on Sunday, Oct. 6, earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be conducted May 13-16, 2014, in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team is all set for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship that will take place at Lake Arrowhead Golf Course in Nekoosa, Wis. The 54-hole championship begins on Friday, Oct. 4 and a winner will be crowned on Sunday, Oct. 6, earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be conducted May 13-16, 2014, in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
The Pioneers have averaged 362.3 per 18 holes as a team and have been led by a pair of freshmen Stephanie Baribeau and Sydney Kilcoin. Baribeau has averaged 88.1 in her first fall season while Kilcoin isn't far behind with an 88.5 average. Baribeau has finished in the top 20 in tournaments this fall with her best finish coming at the Illinois College Invitational in ninth place. Kilcoin's best finish of 12th-place came at the IWU Fall Classic. The only other Pioneer averaging under 90 in a round is sophomore Taylor Egnarski with a 86.8. Egnarski has a team best three top 20 finishes under her belt and placed 16th at last weeks Mad Dawg Invitational.
The WIAC Championship will start at noon with a shotgun start on Friday.
