Golf finishes seventh at WIAC Championships
The UW-Platteville golf team shot a weekend best 350 for a 54-hole total of 1089 +213 (369-370-350), finishing in seventh-place at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship, on Sunday at Lake Arrowhead Golf Course.
NEKOOSA, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville golf team shot a weekend best 350 for a 54-hole total of 1089 +213 (369-370-350), finishing in seventh-place at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship, on Sunday at Lake Arrowhead Golf Course.
UW-Eau Claire scored a weekend low 326 on the final day of the conference championship, claiming the title with a 999 (+123). The Pioneers were just one shot behind sixth-place UW-River Falls, 1008 (+212) and three shot back from fifth-place UW-Stevens Point, 1086 (+182).
Individually, freshman Sydney Kilcoin ended the fall season, tying a career low round of 78 on Sunday, and finished in 14th-place, 260 +41, (91-91-78) in the three day event. Sophomore Taylor Egnarski shot a 88 on the final day, tied for 20th, 279 +51 (89-93-88). Freshman Stephanie Baribeau improved by nine strokes on the final day with a 83 and finished tied for 22nd, 271 +52 (96-92-83). Junior Katie Gregorich tied for 41st, 294 +75 (93-94-107), while Ashley Morales finished in 46th-place, 306 +87 (105-100-101). Brittany Rogness placed 51st with a 334 +115 (111-112-111).
The tournament wraps up the fall portion of the schedule for the Pioneers, who will return to the links for the spring schedule in April.
