After setting a school record in the 3000m steeplechase last week, sophomore Caden Schneider shaved over three seconds off that time to solidify his trip to the national meet next week. Schneider finished fourth overall in a tight race at the meet with a time of 8:57.92, which currently sits 14th in NCAA Division III.
Earlier in the day, senior Justin Eichler won the hammer throw behind a toss of 65.57m (215' 1"). His winning mark was over four meters further than the runner-up in the event.
The Pioneers will have several more athletes competing on day two of the Augustana meet tomorrow.
