Pioneers' Dig for a Cure game set for Oct. 10
For the seventh straight season, the UW-Platteville volleyball team will participate in the promotion to support Breast Cancer Awareness with a Dig for a Cure game. The Pioneers' Dig for a Cure game is set for Friday, Oct. 10 versus conference foe UW-Eau Claire.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – For the seventh straight season, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team will participate in the promotion to support Breast Cancer Awareness with the Dig for a Cure game. The Pioneers' Dig for a Cure game is set for Friday, Oct. 10 versus conference foe UW-Eau Claire. Fans who make a donation will get in to Friday's game for FREE.
Pink t-shirts will be sold throughout the week and is a joint effort with Southwest Health Center (lighting of the M), Pioneer foootball Pink Out game, and colleges against Cancer's Breast Fest Week. All of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
Each of the nine WIAC volleyball teams will be involved in at least one promotional event throughout the month of October. Various promotional activities will take place at each match to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Spectators are encouraged to wear pink clothing in support of all those affected by breast cancer. Over the past six seasons, conference volleyball programs have raised an amazing $137,598 in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
