Eagles down Pioneers
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team dropped Wednesday’s conference game against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 2-0 in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium. The Eagles improved to 9-4-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the league while the Pioneers move to 1-11-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the WIAC.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team dropped Wednesday's conference game against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 2-0 in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium. The Eagles improved to 9-4-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the league while the Pioneers move to 1-11-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the WIAC.
UW-La Crosse took an early lead with an unassisted goal by Kaitlyn Villars in the first five minutes of the game. The Eagles extended their lead to 2-0 in the 35th minute when Natalie Schisel scored off her own saved shot. The visiting team held the lead going into halftime and through the second half of play.
Senior Taylor Martin and sophomore Hailee Sanford each recorded two shots in the second half for the Pioneers. Overall, UW-La Crosse held the advantage in shots 18-4 and owned all eight of the game's corner kicks while the Eagles had 12 shots on frame to the Pioneers' three.
Junior goalkeeper Mariah Kennedy recorded nine saves while counterpart Quinn Shannon tallied three saves on the night.
The Pioneers will return to action at home on Homecoming weekend when UW-Stout rolls into town on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
