Ash Places Second for Pioneers at Viking Invitational
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team competed in the Augustana Viking Invitational over the weekend at Highland Springs Golf Course. The Pioneers finished eighth overall out of nine teams with a 36-hole team score of 695 after rounds of 351 and 344 strokes.

Continuing her impressive season was senior Markie Ash who finished second overall with a 36-hole score of 155. Ash shot 79 in round one and 76 in round two, including three birdies on the front nine. This is Ash's third straight tournament finishing in the top two.
Finishing second for the Pioneers was senior Emily Veenhuis shooting a two-day score of 173 after rounds of 88 and 85. This is Vennhuis' best 36-hole score of the spring season.
Rounding out the top five for the Pioneers was freshman Jada Chang shooting 179 (93,86), senior Cortney Olsen shooting 188 (91, 97) and freshman Emma Cage shooting 193 (96, 97).
