Ash tops leaderboard as Pioneers compete at Whitewater Invite
JANESVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team finished fourth out of 13 teams after two rounds at Riverside Golf Course. The Pioneers shot a 36-hole team score of 673, shooting 330 in the first round and 343 in the second round. Senior Markie Ash continued her impressive form, shooting a 36-hole score of 147, placing her first for the invite.
JANESVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team finished fourth out of 13 teams after two rounds at Riverside Golf Course. The Pioneers shot a 36-hole team score of 673, shooting 330 in the first round and 343 in the second round.
Senior Markie Ash continued her impressive form, shooting a 36-hole score of 147, placing her first for the invite. Ash broke her own 36-hole school record of 150 strokes which was set at the Highland Classic earlier this season. Her 73 second round score was also a new personal best for Ash and tied for second lowest in school history.
Senior Cortney Olsen posted daily results of 85 and 86 finishing second for the Pioneers with a final score of 171.
Also competing for the Pioneers were sophomore Josie Alm (83,92) with 175 strokes, freshman Madeline Ritter (89,92) with 181 strokes, and senior Emily Veenhuis (88,94) with 182 strokes.
The Pioneers tee it up next at the Falcon Invite in Prescott, Wisconsin on October 1.
