Dohrn does in Pioneers

UW-River Falls' Maranda Dohrn scored 23 points and tied a school record with 22 rebounds, leading the Falcons past host UW-Platteville 57-46 Saturday on Bo Ryan Court.

The Falcons, 18-5 overall, clinched a tie for third place with UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 10-6 mark. The Pioneers finished their season 12-3, 5-11.

Prior to the game, the Pioneers saluted seniors Stacia Nemitz, Dru Schneider, and Charity Stotmeister. Nemitz led the Pioneers in scoring with 18 points in her final game, while freshman Claire Poad added 11.

Dohrn made 11-15 from the field and grabbed 11 offensive and 11 defensive boards for the Falcons, who led 28-18 at the half. Brittany Gregorich added 11 rebounds, as UWRF held a 51-28 advantage.

With Kaitlyn Pustina's three-point basket in the first half, the Pioneers ran their streak of at least one three-pointer in 200 straight games, dating back to Dec. 11, 2002.
