Nemitz's 24 lead Pioneers to title

Stacia Nemitz scored a career-high 24 points, leading UW-Platteville to a 67-55 victory over Northland Collegel and the championship of the Dunn's Sporting Goods Tip-Off Tournament at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Nemitz, who surpassed her previous high by one, made 10-17 from the floor, including 4-7 three-point baskets. Charity Stotmeister added 16 points for the Pioneers, who improved to 3-0.

With Northland leading 44-41, the Pioneers ripped off 13 straight points to take control of the title game. Nemitz had seven of those points, including the go-ahead layup jump shot with 9:03 to play. Stotmeister had four points, and Ashley Wolf finished off the 13-0 run with a basket with 7:02 remaining.

The Pioneers play at the University of Dubuque Tuesday at 6 p.m.
