Warhawks topple Pioneers

The UW-Platteville women's basketball team fell just short of a win in the last 20 seconds at UW-Whitewater, falling 76-75 from a layup made by UW-Whitewater's Dana Thompson.
The Pioneers turned over the ball with three seconds left but then forced a turnover. Lisa Grantman missed a 3 pointer at the buzzer.
The Warhawks led the Pioneers 36-25 at the half.
Leading the UW-Platteville Pioneers with 20 points was Lisa Grantman while Lisa Wubben made 14 points and 8 rebounds. Liz Wisdom scored 12 points, and Liz Tesch had 10.
Heidi Sonntag led the UW-Whitewater Warhawks with 16 points with Tiffany Morton totaling 13 points.
UW-Platteville will host UW-River Falls Saturday at 3 p.m.
