Yellowjackets top Pioneers

Despite career highs from freshmen Vanessa Nemitz and Megan Guernsey, visiting UW-Platteville fell 76-64 at UW-Superior Saturday.
Nemitz had 16 points, making four three-point baskets, while Guersney had 15, including nine points via the three-point shot. Senior center Liz Tesch added 15 points, giving her 51 during two game this week. She added a game-high 10 rebounds Saturday.
UW-Superior's Katie Moench scored 23 points, and the Yellowjackets made 20 of 24 free throws to key their win. Moench made three three-point baskets and 8-9 free throws to lead UW-Superior. Ashley Laidley added 16 points while Amanda Rounsville had 13 and Carissa Nord 12.
The Pioneers slipped to 9-14 overall and 3-11 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Yellowjackets improved to 8-15, 2-12.
UWP concludes the regular season with a pair of home games, facing UW-Stevens Point Wednesday and UW-Oshkosh Saturday. Both contests tip at 7 p.m.
