Cold Pioneers fall in Kentucky
Dec. 30, 2005
A cold-shooting UW-Platteville women's basketball team fell 55-40 at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Ky. Friday.
The Pioneers, who finished 1-1 on their holiday trip, shot just 25 percent from the field, including 16 percent in the first half when they fell behind 31-15. UWP cut the lead to 46-35 on a Stacia Nemitz layup, but came no closer.
The Saints, who edged the Pioneers 61-60 last year, improved to 8-4, while the Pioneers fell to 6-5.
Michelle Hardyman was the only Pioneer in double figures, scoring 11 points.
The Pioneers, who are 2-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, face conference rival UW-Oshkosh Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Williams Fieldhouse.
