Sophomore center Liz Tesch, who had just eight points in UW-Platteville's first six games, exploded for 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the Pioneers past host UW-Whitewater 63-52 Wednesday.
The victory was the third straight for the Pioneers, who improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Warhawks fell to 4-4, 1-2.
Tesch scored four straight free throws to snap a 51-51 tie and give the Pioneers the lead for good. Rachel Korth added 11 rebounds, including six offensive boards.
