Pioneers vs. UW-Stevens Point

UW-Stevens Point exploited its height advantage inside and beat UW-Platteville 68-48 Tuesday night in Williams Fieldhouse.

The Pointers scored 50 points in the paint, including all 13 of its first-half field goals. UWSP, who led 30-20 at the half, shot 57 percent on the night compared to 27 percent for the Pioneers.

Amanda Nechuta scored 19 points and became UW-Stevens Point's all-time leading scorer. She now has 1,666 points, seventh-best in the history of the WIAC. Natalie Lechault added 10 for the Pointers, who won their 10th straight game.

Lisa Wubben and Holly Kaiser each scored 13 points, with Wubben grabbing 10 rebounds for the Pioneers.

Stevens Point improved to 15-3 overall and 8-2 in the WIAC, while the Pioneers fell to 10-8, 3-7.

The Pioneers entertain Thomas More (Ky.) Saturday at 3 p.m.
