Women's Basketball's sets date for Breast Cancer Awareness Game
UW-Platteville head women’s basketball coach Megan Wilson has announced that the Pioneers will sponsor their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game on Wednesday, Feb. 12 against UW-Stevens Point.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville head women's basketball coach Megan Wilson has announced that the Pioneers will sponsor their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game on Wednesday, Feb. 12 against UW-Stevens Point.
This year the Pioneers' theme is 'Sock it to Cancer', where the team will wear pink socks along with their pink uniforms.
Each Pioneer sport team has decorated a bra to be voted on to help collect donation. Make a donation to cast your vote for the best decorated bra.
Also at halftime the Pioneer Dance team will be helping with a bucket run. Half of all the donations will go to the Barbara Oimeon Education Fund and the other half to Play4Kay.
Play4Kay was created to help support former NC State women's basketball coach Kay Yow and her fight with breast cancer. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.
