Eichler Named DIII Hammer Throw Champion
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Senior Justin Eichler of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field team was crowned the NCAA Division III champion in the hammer throw Saturday afternoon on the final day of the National Championships from Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Senior Justin Eichler of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field team was crowned the NCAA Division III champion in the hammer throw Saturday afternoon on the final day of the National Championships from Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Eichler, who entered the championships as the DIII leader in the event, claimed the hammer throw title by throwing a mark of 64.11m (210' 4") on his fourth attempt. In rainy conditions, Eichler advanced to the finals with a toss of 60.85m (199' 7") on his first throw of the day. His opening attempt in the finals proved to be good enough to secure his first national championship after earning All-American honors the past two years in the event.
