Six Pioneers named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field team
Four members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's track and field team; Patrick Kessenich, Ian LaMere, Austin Lloyd, and Joel Walden, and two members of the women's team; Alyssa Iserman and Emily Kjos were named to the 2014 United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Track & Field team.
NEW ORLEANS -- Four members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's track and field team; Patrick Kessenich, Ian LaMere, Austin Lloyd, and Joel Walden, and two members of the women's team; Alyssa Iserman and Emily Kjos were named to the 2014 United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Track & Field team.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards: a student-athlete must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
Kessenich and LaMere are named all-academic for the second consecutive year. Kessenich qualified for the outdoor nationals in the 400-meter hurdles and the 110-meter hurdles, while LaMere earned all-American honors during the indoor season and qualified for the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter run in the outdoor championships.
Lloyd recorded the 35th fastest 110-meter hurdles time in the nation, as Walden posted the 28th best 3,000-meter time during the indoor season.
Iserman qualified for the indoor championships as she posted the fourth best mark in the high jump, and then qualified for the outdoor championships. Kjos recorded the 23rd best javelin mark on her way to a WIAC championship.
