MADISON, Wis. – Amber Williams was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her record-breaking performance, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
The freshman from Milwaukee, Wis. finished second at the Dr. Tucker Open on April 26, breaking an 18 year-old triple jump school record with a leap of 38-feet and three and a quarter inches. That mark currently ranks her 11th on the NCAA Division III performance list, and is the second best in the WIAC.
Williams and the Pioneers return to action on Friday and Saturday at the WIAC Championships, hosted by UW-Oshkosh.
