Plautz named Academic All-American
Platteville, Wis.- Senior Rachel Plautz, of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball program, was recently named third team Academic All-American of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Plautz was eligible for the Academic All-American honor after being named a District 6 All-Region member.
Platteville, Wis.- Senior Rachel Plautz, of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball program, was recently named third team Academic All-American of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Plautz was eligible for the Academic All-American honor after being named a District 6 All-Region member.
The D.C. Everest alumna hit .361 with four home runs, nine doubles and 27 runs scored. Plautz appeared in all 32 games behind the plate and led the league throwing out 14 would be base stealers.
Platuz is a four-time member of the WIAC athletic honor roll, UW-Platteville's Gabe Miller Academic Honor Roll, and a three-time All-WIAC selection.
Platuz graduated in May with a degree in mechanical engineering and maintained a 3.80 grade-point-average.
