UW-Platteville is a Wisconsin Public school looking for student-athletes who are serious about their academics and have the maturity to handle the high expectations of our program. The foundation of our men's soccer program is set upon
Unify - Family - Community Brotherhood - Culture
WE before Me - Servant - Selfless - Character - Be Positive - Work Hard - Be Enthusiastic - Be Confident - Be Resilient
Personal Development - Be the man you want to be and say you are - Constant and consistent growth in all areas of life
Our quest is to come TOGETHER as a FAMILY and chase after playing to a standard, while growing as young men!
A GREAT LEVEL OF PLAY
In addition, we are looking for players who have a high level of technical, tactical, and athletic ability. We often attract players who choose UW-Platteville over a mid-major DI school because of the environment, culture, and intentionally positive team chemistry found in our program.
POSITIONAL NEEDS
We look to bring in top players no matter the position. We look for versatility rather than positionally.
THE RECRUITING PROCESS
The team is chosen primarily through the recruiting process and offers open tryouts. Therefore, it is important for interested high school student-athletes to understand both the process and the timing. The following are some steps you can take to help i the recruiting process:
- Contact Us: Fill out our Online Recruit Form so we will have your information. Then follow up with a personal e-mail to Head Coach Jesse Tinney at tinneyje@uwplatt.edu
- Send Us Highlights: Although we don't typically offer spots based on video alone, it can sometimes be a good starting place for the recruiting process.
- Attend Our ID Clinic: The Men's Soccer ID Camp is a helpful part of our initial identification process in our recruiting timeline. This provides an opportunity for high school players to train at a high level, be seen by the UW-Platteville staff, and get a feel for the culture of the program. The ID Camp has become the most important part of our recruiting process as we make many of our roster decisions based on the evaluation from this camp.
- Send Us Tournament Schedules: If you will be attending one of the tournaments in the right hand box, then send us your game times, field locations, opponent, and jersey number.
- Visit Campus: You can get a campus tour, meet with Amissions, and spend time with the coaching staff. Contact the Office of Admission at 608.342.1125 to set up the visit and be sure to let them know you wish to meet with the coaching staff.
- Come to a Game: It is of great benefit for you to see us play and get a firsthand look at the level of play, the team's style, and the atmosphere surrounding a game.
For the right student-athlete, we believe at UW-Platteville we have the perfect blend of academic pathways for careers after college partnered with an elite athletic experience. Possibilities are endless here. We as a Coaching staff fully intnd to prepare you for LIFE! We want to develop student-athletes in all aspects of life and allow you to play to a standard in our program! Become a Pioneer of the future, today.
