Pioneers Earn At-Large Bid To NCAA Tournament, Will Play North Central
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – For the third consecutive year, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team earned an at-large bid into the NCAA DIII Tournament following the selection show on Monday afternoon. The Pioneers will take on North Central (Ill.) in the opening round from St. Peter, Minnesota on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

The Pioneers will take on North Central (Ill.) in the opening round from St. Peter, Minnesota on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
UW-Platteville makes its seventh tournament appearance after going 13-2-3 and playing in the WIAC Championship game this past Sunday. The Pioneers boast one of the top defensive units in the tournament, allowing just 0.556 goals per game, 12th-best in NCAA DIII.
North Central went 10-5-5 on the season and punched their ticket to the tournament by winning the CCIW Championship with a 2-1 win over North Park. The Cardinals will be making their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Enzo Fuschino.
Prior to his time at North Central, Fuschino was the head coach at UW-Platteville, where he guided the Pioneers to their first four NCAA Tournament appearances.
The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the second round of the tournament against the winner of host school Gustavus Adolphus (15-1-3) and MSOE (12-3-6). That second-round contest will take place on Sunday, November 17 at 1 p.m.
