Three Second-Half Scores Send Pioneers To Win
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Three second-half goals helped the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (5-0-2) take down Coe (3-5-1) by a score of 4-1 on Saturday afternoon from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Three second-half goals helped the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (5-0-2) take down Coe (3-5-1) by a score of 4-1 on Saturday afternoon from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
Senior Clayton Mobile scored his first goal of the season in the ninth minute to get the scoring started for the Pioneers in the ninth minute. He found the net with his left foot after a nice cross from junior Ethan Dietrich, who picked up his fifth assist on the year.
The Kohawks answered in the 23rd minute of the first half and the game remained tied at one apiece heading into halftime.
UW-Platteville broke the tie just after the break in the 49th minute as junior Danny Gutzwiller converted a penalty kick after junior Sebastian Carranza was taken down in the box. Gutzwiller increased the lead in the 54th minute with his second goal of the game and third on the season following a pass from senior Alex Wano.
The Pioneers final goal of the match came in the 81st minute, as sophomore Justin Williams blasted home his second of the year with freshman Aiden Hatleberg earning his first career assist.
After only holding a one-shot advantage at halftime, the Pioneers outshot Coe 19-0 in the second half. For the game, UW-Platteville attempted 24 shots, 13 of which were on frame. Gutzwiller had a team-high six shots in the match, while four other players had multiple shots in the match.
UW-Platteville also held a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks, including 8-0 in the second half.
In goal, senior Lucas Cisneros picked up the win after entering in the second half and playing the final 45 minutes. Junior Seth Aiken started the game in net and saved two of the three shots he faced.
The Pioneers will hit the road for the next two matches, starting on Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Simpson.
