Pioneers Roll To 6-0 Win Over Sabres
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (4-0-1) erupted for six goals to beat Marian (Wis.) (1-3-2) by a score of 6-0 on Saturday afternoon from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (4-0-1) erupted for six goals to beat Marian (Wis.) (1-3-2) by a score of 6-0 on Saturday afternoon from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The opening goal of the match went to junior Zac Monnett, who put a header in the back of the net in the 10th minute. Junior Keith Gardner was credited with the assist.
Junior Ethan Dietrich scored the next two goals for the Pioneers to increase the lead to 3-0. His first goal came in the 26th minute when his left foot shot bounced off the right post and angled in following a pass from junior Daxton Foote. In the 38th minute, Dietrich found the net again with junior Sebastian Carranza collecting the assist.
Sophomore Luke Hogle scored in the 44th minute to add one more goal for UW-Platteville in the first half. Junior Christian Diaz picked up the assist on the header goal.
The Pioneers tacked on two more goals in the second half, starting with freshman Aiden Hatleberg's converted penalty kick in the 64th minute. Diaz wrapped up the scoring for the day with an 87th-minute goal off an assist by freshman Austin Cole.
UW-Platteville outshot the Sabres 25-3 for the match, including 17-0 in shots on goal. Fourteen different players attempted at least one shot for the Pioneers, led by Hatleberg's five.
In goal, senior Lucas Cisneros was credited with the win after earning the start and playing the first 45 minutes. Senior Chase Werner entered to begin the second half and played just under 43 minutes before giving way to freshman Theodore Utz, who concluded the game in net.
The Pioneers will have a week off before taking on North Central (Ill.) next Saturday night at 7 p.m.
