Pioneers Score Four Straight In Win Over Saints
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (11-1-4) scored four unanswered goals to win 4-1 over St. Scholastica (2-13-1) on Tuesday night from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (11-1-4) scored four unanswered goals to win 4-1 over St. Scholastica (2-13-1) on Tuesday night from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Saints found the back of the net in the 14th minute to take the early lead, but the Pioneers responded with a pair of first half goals to lead at the break. Sophomore Kellen Klosterman tallied his second goal of the year after firing a rebound into the back of the net. Junior Marcelo Garay earned the assist on the goal. Junior Lucas Schoeneberg put UW-Platteville ahead in the 40th minute for his third goal of the year following a pass from junior Michael Schaefer.
In the second half, the Pioneers added two more goals to secure the three-goal win. Sophomore Sebastian Carranza scored his fifth of the year following a couple of headers, with freshman Parker Boatman getting credit for the assist. The final goal of the game came in the 88th minute as junior Marcelo Garay fired a long shot that beat the keeper for his fifth on the campaign. Sophomore Henry Bowland picked up the assist.
The Pioneers outshot the Saints 28-2 in the match, including 9-1 in shots on frame. Freshman Justin Williams led the way with five shots while senior Jack Gentilli finished with four. Thirteen different players recorded a shot for UW-Platteville.
Sophomore Seth Aiken played all 90 minutes in goal and earned the win, his eighth on the year.
UW-Platteville concludes regular season play on when it hosts UW-Eau Claire at 7 p.m. for Senior Day.
