Pioneers Win 3-1 Over Central
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (8-0-4) remained undefeated with a 3-1 win over Central (Iowa) (5-5-2) on Friday night from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (8-0-4) remained undefeated with a 3-1 win over Central (Iowa) (5-5-2) on Alumni Day Friday night from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, the Pioneers broke through in the 47th minute on freshman Justin Williams' third goal of the season. Williams collected a loose ball and blasted a shot just outside the box to beat the Dutch keeper.
Central evened the game at one less than a minute later, but UW-Platteville would get a pair of goals by junior Konrad Ziaja to go up 3-1. Ziaja scored his first of the match in the 51st minute, with sophomore Ethan Dietrich picking up the assist. In the 71st minute, Ziaja netted his fourth of the season after deflecting a shot attempt by Williams, who was credited with an assist.
The Pioneers outshot the Dutch 21-3 and 6-2 in shots on frame. Sophomore Danny Gutzwiller paced the team with five shots, while six other players had at least two.
In net, sophomore Seth Aiken improved to 5-0-4 on the year while tallying one save.
The Pioneers welcome Coast-to-Coast conference foe UW-Whitewater to Platteville on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
