Pioneers Blank Albion 4-0 Saturday
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (6-0-3) shutout Albion (4-3-0) by a score of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (6-0-3) shutout Albion (4-3-0) by a score of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
Junior Clayton Mobile opened the scoring in the 12th minute with his first goal of the season following a pass from sophomore Sebastian Carranza. Eight minutes later, Carranza netted his third goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Danny Gutzwiller to give the Pioneers a two-goal lead.
UW-Platteville added two more goals in the second half, starting with Gutzwiller's fourth of the year in the 52nd minute. Junior Lucas Schoeneberg was credited with the assist on the goal. In the 81st minute, junior Marcelo Garay found the net off a pass from junior Michael Schaefer to increase the lead to four.
The Pioneers outshot the Britons 25-6 in the match including 12-3 in shots on goal. Thirteen different players recorded a shot for UW-Platteville, led by five from Carranza and four from Gutzwiller.
Junior Chase Werner picked up his second win of the season in goal after making one save across 45 minutes in goal. Junior Lucas Cisneros played the second in net and made a pair of saves.
The Pioneers host Dubuque on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
