Pioneers Cruise To Shutout Win Over Greenville
GREEVILLE, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (4-0-2) scored three first half goals en route to a 4-0 shutout win over Greenville (3-3-0) on Saturday afternoon at Francis Field in Greenville, Illinois.

GREEVILLE, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (4-0-2) scored three first half goals en route to a 4-0 shutout win over Greenville (3-3-0) on Saturday afternoon at Francis Field in Greenville, Illinois.
The Pioneers offense found its rhythm early the first half as they scored three times in a span of four minutes to take control of the match. Freshman Justin Williams opened the scoring in the 18th minute with his second of the season following a pass from junior Isaac Petersen. Less than a minute later, sophomore Ethan Dietrich found the back of the net off an assist by junior Lucas Schoeneberg for his first goal of the year. In the 21st minute, junior Konrad Ziaja made it 3-0 with Dietrich tallying the assist.
UW-Platteville added one more goal in the second half on sophomore Daxton Foote's first goal of the season.
The Pioneers dominated the chances in the match, outshooting Greenville 18-3 and 10-0 in shots on goal. Fourteen different players recorded a shot for UW-Platteville, led by four by Dietrich.
Junior Chase Werner earned the win in goal, his first of the season.
The Pioneers return home to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. match against Wartburg.
