Pioneers Post Draw With Raiders
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (3-0-1) battled MSOE (1-1-1) to a 2-2 draw on Thursday night at Viets Field in Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (3-0-1) battled MSOE (1-1-1) to a 2-2 draw on Thursday night at Viets Field in Milwaukee.
The Raiders found the back of the net twice early in the opening half, scoring in the 15th and 19th minutes. Seven minutes later, junior Lucas Schoeneberg cut the Pioneers deficit to one with a shot that beat the MSOE keeper to the upper right corner. Sophomore Danny Gutzwiller was credited with the assist on the goal, hist first of the season.
Gutzwiller would score his third goal of the year in the 62nd minute of the second half on a penalty kick to tie the game at two apiece.
Following a late red card, Pioneers sophomore goalkeeper Seth Aiken made a trio of saves to ensure the game remained tied. Aiken finished with four total saves in the match.
MSOE outshot UW-Platteville 10-9 and 6-3 in shots on goal. Schoeneberg paced the Pioneers with three total shots, while sophomore Ethan Dietrich tallied two of his own.
The Pioneers return home to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Sunday afternoon for a 3 p.m. match against UW-Superior. It'll be the first matchup between the two teams since 2014.
