Pioneers Fall To St. Olaf Monday Night
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (10-3-2) had its 12-game unbeaten streak snapped on Monday evening, falling 3-0 to St. Olaf (10-5-0) inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (10-3-2) had its 12-game unbeaten streak snapped on Monday evening, falling 3-0 to St. Olaf (10-5-0) inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Oles scored quickly, finding the back of the net in the seventh minute to take an early lead. UW-Platteville had a chance to answer in the 14th minute, but a high shot by junior Jack Gentilli was turned aside. St. Olaf's offense kept freshman goalkeeper Seth Aiken busy throughout the first half, sending nine shots including six on goal. Aiken made five saves in the first 45 minutes to keep the game at 1-0.
The Pioneers offense had several chances in the second half, attempting 11 shots and three on goal, but the Oles were able to keep them off the board. St. Olaf added a pair of goals late to increase the lead to three, scoring in the 82nd and 85th minutes.
UW-Platteville finished with 12 shots and four on goal, with Gentilli leading the team with three of each. St. Olaf outshot the Pioneers, totaling 16 shots and eight on target. Aiken finished with five saves on eight shots faced.
The Pioneers will host Cornell College (6-5-2) on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. for Mental Health Awareness Night.
