Offense Propels Pioneers To Third Straight Win
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville offense scored four times as the Pioneers won their third consecutive game with a 4-1 win over Albion on Sunday afternoon inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville offense scored four times as the Pioneers won their third consecutive game with a 4-1 win over Albion on Sunday afternoon inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers improved to 4-2-1 on the season behind an offense that has scored 11 goals over the past three games.
Sophomore Clayton Mobile his fourth goal of the season in the 20th minute to give the Pioneers a quick lead. Freshman Danny Gutzwiller assisted on the goal, sending a cross into the middle of the field for Mobile to fire past the keeper.
In the 22nd minute, freshman Sebastian Carranza lofted a perfect cross over the defense to the waiting foot of junior Jack Gentilli who tucked a shot inside the left post before the keeper could make the save. Gentilli's goal was his fifth in the past three games.
UW-Platteville added to the lead in the opening minute of the second half as Gutzwiller spun around a defender and blasted a shot from 18 yards out to the lower right corner. Senior Brant Mueller increased the Pioneers lead to four in the 48th minute as he headed in a goal coming off a corner kick. Gentilli was credited with the assist, his fourth of the season.
Albion got on the board in the 84th minute following a corner kick.
The Pioneers dominated possession throughout the match and outshot the Brits 22-2 and 13-2 on goal. Gutzwiller led the team with four shots and three on goal, while Mueller and freshman Cael Harris each tallied three shots. In goal, freshman Seth Aiken recorded the win, stopping one of two shots faced.
UW-Platteville will host Augustana (Ill.) on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. for Hispanic Heritage Night.
