Unbeaten in nine, Pioneers shutout Falcons
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to nine with Sunday’s 2-0 shutout over Concordia University of Wisconsin in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to nine with Sunday's 2-0 shutout over Concordia University of Wisconsin in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers, who currently sit first in the nation in shots on goal per game and second nationally in shots per game, continued to showcase their offensive pressure piling up 25 shots against the Falcons' four. Eleven fell on goal for UW-Platteville while Concordia Wisconsin failed to place one shot on goal.
The Pioneers jumped to an early 2-0 lead courtesy of sophomore Jack Gentilli which would hold for the remainder of the afternoon. Gentilli scored his first goal of the day unassisted in the 21st minute and then knocked in another with an assist from freshman Clayton Mobile in the 26th minute.
Concordia Wisconsin's Mattson Wick registered eight saves for the Falcons while freshman Chase Werner was untested in the 90 minutes.
The Pioneers will hit the road for a four-game road stretch which starts on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Coe College. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
