No. 18 Pioneers top North Central on Senior Day
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On a day recognizing the seven seniors on the team, No. 18 University of Wisconsin-Platteville topped the North Central Cardinals 2-0 Saturday in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On a day recognizing the seven seniors on the team, No. 18 University of Wisconsin-Platteville topped the North Central Cardinals 2-0 Saturday in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers improve to 12-1-3 while the Cardinals fall to 9-7-1 overall.
The Pioneers kicked off the day when senior Nick Hoklas was assisted by senior Brad Strobel in the 29th minute to put the Pioneers ahead 1-0. The score would remain steady for the remaining first half and until late in the 86th minute when junior Braxton Rottinghaus found the back of the net to extend the Pioneers' lead to 2-0 with Rottinghaus' seventh goal of the season.
Junior Nate Miller came up big for the Pioneers tallying up five saves in the 90 minutes of play.
The Cardinals held the advantage on shots with 16-9 with five on frame for both teams while North Central also held the edge in corner kicks with 7-3.
The Pioneers recognized the seven seniors on the team at halftime of the game. The class that includes Tommy Bitter, Nick Hoklas, Matthew Huftalin, Nick Konopacki, Logan Rinderknecht, Mason Spang, and Brad Strobel now holds a 46-15-8 overall record over the last four years including qualifying for the NCAA Tournament last season.
The Pioneers return to action to close out the regular season at UW-Whitewater on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
