Pioneers fall in last seconds of nationally ranked battle
DE PERE, Wis. – The UW-Platteville Pioneers, ranked No. 22 by the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Div. III Poll, fell 1-0 Sunday night in the final seconds of the battle against No. 14 St. Norbert.

DE PERE, Wis. – The UW-Platteville Pioneers, ranked No. 22 by the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Div. III Poll, fell 1-0 Sunday night in the final seconds of the battle against No. 14 St. Norbert.
St. Norbert had just a 11-8 advantage on shots and a 3-2 edge in corner kicks over UW-Platteville. Nick Hoklas led the Pioneers' attempts with three shots. Goalkeeper Nate Miller recorded four saves on the night.
The final seconds frenzy that ultimately resulted in the game ending goal, came off St. Norbert's Seth Boldt's shot that hit the crossbar to fall down to the goal line for Tiernan Guinn to shoot it into the back of the net and give St. Norbert the 1-0 victory.
Up next, the Pioneers get set to host local competitor Loras College on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
