INDIANOLA, Iowa – The scoreboard remained unfazed at Sunday afternoon's matchup between the Simpson Storm and UW-Platteville Pioneers, ending in a 0-0 tie in double overtime.
The defensive battle included the Pioneers holding the advantage with 14-11 shots with four on goal.
UW-Platteville dominated the two overtime periods and recorded all four shots taken after regulation, but were unable to find the net to secure the victory.
Goalkeeper Nate Miller recorded four saves in his third shutout of the season.
This is only the second 0-0 tie for the Pioneers since the 2014 season and UW-Platteville now moves to 4-0-1 for the 2018 season.
The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday night at home when they play host to the Vikings of Augustana at 7:30 p.m. on Youth Night.
