Two Pioneers have been recognized for leading the Pioneers to an outstanding season and a second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Logan Rinderknecht and Jon Stopple have been named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-North Region.
Rinderknecht was selected to the All-North Region Second Team after being a 2016 Third Team member. His 10 goals and 22 points lead the Pioneers for the second consecutive season. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native has now scored at least 17 points in all three of his seasons at UW-Platteville. Rinderknecht also had four game winning goals on the year.
Stopple, who is also a CoSIDA Academic All-District recipient, was one of three midfielders named to the All-North Region Third Team. He was second on the Pioneers in goals with nine, a career high. The senior was also second in points with 18. He was 4-of-5 on penalty kicks and scored for game winners for the Pioneers. Stopple's selection comes after deciding to return to UW-Platteville for a fifth year to play out a senior season.
