PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers defeated Central College 2-1 on Saturday, Oct. 7 in Pella, Iowa.
Central and UW-Platteville have similar records, with the Pioneers 9-2-1 and Central 8-3-0, which made for a competitive contest.
Pioneers had five shots in the game while Central had three. Pioneers, Brad Strobel scored the first goal unassisted in the eight minute.
Ivan Khamenka scored the second unassisted goal off the top of the box for the Pioneers. Twenty minutes later Central scored its lone goal, but that was it for the rest of the game.
The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium at 7 p.m. against Marian.
