John Stopple scored a first-half goal, and that was all UW-Platteville needed, as the Pioneers topped North Central 1-0 Saturday night in Naperville, Illinois.

John Stopple scored a first-half goal, and that was all UW-Platteville needed, as the Pioneers topped North Central 1-0 Saturday night in Naperville, Illinois.
Stopple took an assist from Jake Stevens and beat the Cardinal keeper at the 35:56 mark. Nate Miller made a big second-half save to preserve the shutout and the victory.
UW-Platteville improved to 7-1 on the year, while North Central fell to 3-4-1.
The Pioneers return to action Wednesday, playing host to the University of Dubuque at 7 p.m.
