Pioneers send seniors off with 5-0 win
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team defeated Edgewood College 5-0 Wednesday night at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team defeated Edgewood College 5-0 Wednesday night at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
UW-Platteville built three goal lead in the first half. Junior forward Lucas Aplin scored at the 27 minute mark. Senior forward Amenophis Sanon was given the assist. Sophomore midfielder Nick Hoklas scored an unassisted goal a minute later to make the score 2-0. Junior midfielder Wyatt Gilson notched an unassisted goal at the 43 minute mark, giving the Pioneers the 3-0 lead.
The Pioneers came out strong again and junior midfielder Sean Ryan extended the Pioneer lead to 4-0. Freshman midfielder Braxton Rottinghaus was credited with assist. Gilson score his second goal of the game at the 55 minute mark. Sophomore midfielder Brad Strobel earned the assist.
The Pioneers shut the Eagles out and went on to win the game 5-0.
Freshman Nate Miller started the game in goal and tallied one save, while fellow Freshman Will Seehawer came in the second half.
Seniors Alex Bach, Keith Baerwald, Matthew Hanstad, Cesar Hernadez, Will Pretto, and Amenophis Sanon all left their mark on the Pioneer Soccer program.
The Pioneers ended the season 12-6 overall while the Eagles ended the season at 7-12.
