Pioneers drop one to the Warhawks

WHITEWATER, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team fell to host UW-Whitewater 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Fiskum Field.
UW-Whitewater was able to establish a two goal lead early in the game. The Warhawks were able to score eight minutes into the game and then UW-Platteville had a crucial own goal eight minutes later. Midfielder Braxton Rottinghaus was able to get the Pioneers on the board with an unassisted goal at the 17th minute mark.
The Pioneers were not able to find the back of the net as the final score read 2-1. Freshman Nate Miller started in goal and tallied six saves.
The Pioneers dropped to 10-6 overall while the Warhawks moved to 10-4-3 overall. UW-Platteville will travel to University of Dubuque on Oct. 22 for its 2 p.m. game.
