Pioneers rebound with 3-0 victory
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team rebounded from its first loss of the season, defeating Marian 3-0 Sunday afternoon in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team rebounded from its first loss of the season, defeating Marian 3-0 Sunday afternoon in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
The Pioneers struck early in the first half. After 6:44 minutes of play, Sophomore forward Logan Rinderknecht scored off a pass from Junior midfielder Lucas Aplin. Rinderknecht has now scored 6 goals in 5 games.
UW-Platteville was able to score one more goal in the first half. Senior defensemen Will Pretto was able to find the back of the net at the 13-minute mark. Pretto is second on the team with five goals in five games.
In the second half, the Pioneers were able to score once more, with Dominic Taldone recording his first goal of the year. Braxton Rottinghaus was awarded the assist.
Freshmen goalie Will Seehawer faced only one shot on goal. The Pioneers pressured Marian's goalie all afternoon, tallying 10 shots on goal.
UW-Platteville moved to 4-1 overall, while Marian fell to 1-3 overall.
The Pioneers return to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Wednesday, facing off against Wisconsin Lutheran at 7 p.m.
